Slavery services at the United Nations?

Tuesday, May 30, 2017

The United Nations is often looking for applicants, the last deadline date was May 29, 2017. The intergovernmental organization offered an internship in New York for three months, up to six months. Due to the number of applicants, the desired competencies are high: a very good knowledge of the English language is required, and fluency in French, too. Applicants with an academic career are preferred, minimum is a Bachelor’s level or equivalent.

The organization pays no travel costs, travel arrangements (including visas) and living accommodations. Considering the cost of living in New York, such an internship would only be suitable for applicants in a good financial situation. Comments on Facebook were saying that the money could better be invested in founding an own independent existence. The offer rather gave the impression that the United Nations will have a few slaves.

Some reports say, that there are about 200 people buisy in an internship at the United Nations’ headquarter in New York. The costs of living may be reduced, if you live in hostel where you get breakfeast and supper. An Internship would be helpful for all applicants who want to work for the United Nations in the future.
